Mortals
The installation Mortals visualizes the exhaustive number of people I have "known" since I was born. It translates in space, with pins, threads and stickers, the complexity of a network that spans more than 1700 relationships.
The installation has been shown in four different locations. It was created and first shown during LMCC Swing Space residency's open studios on Governor Island, then at SVA Gallery as part of the group show "RE:", at Superfine gallery, Brooklyn, NY and as a part of the group show "Pins and Needles" at the Housatonic Museum of Art, Bridgeport, CT.
A series of drawings explores the various possible way to convey the autobiographical data into a comprehensive 3 dimensional representation.
