This series started a long time ago. After writing a thesis on American Musicals, I conveyed my fascination for the Chorus Line by creating collages, mixing photographic self portraits taken in photobooth, drawings, stickers and magazine scraps. The original collages inspired a 3D animation that I finished for my MFA at the School of Visual Arts: Monsterparty. The piece won prices at SIGGRAPH and international festivals.

For the recent series “Déflorée: History”, I went back to using some of the photobooth pictures I took decades ago and created one collage reminiscent of the chorus lines I used to be inspired by, but using flower petals. The combination is a perfect reflection of my yearning to feel more connected to the natural world.
